On 13 and 14 October, after a two-year break caused by covid, the 15th meeting of SPMO members with members of the Czech-Slovak Association of Producers of Refractory Materials (AČSV®) was held in Łańcut and Ropczyce. The program of the first day in Łańcut included the presentations of the president of AČSVŽ, Stanislav Dvořak: “Statistics of AČSVŽ for 2021” and “Liberty – Carbon neutral 2030” and the secretary of SPMO, Jerzy Czechowski, “The refractory industry in Poland in 2020-2021 and prospects – energy and users” . The discussions referred to the rising energy costs and problems associated with the possible use of hydrogen in the firing of refractory materials. In the unofficial part, the participants of the meeting visited the castle / palace of the Lubomirski and Potocki families. On the second day, the participants traveled from Łańcut to Zakłady Magnezytowe Ropczyce SA. The visitors were welcomed by President Józef Siwiec, and the Vice-President for Commercial Affairs, Jerzy Gdula, briefly discussed the history of the plants, emphasizing the development of export, which currently amounts to over 50% of the production volume and goes to all continents. The head of the Research and Development Center, Wiesław Zelik, presented its activities, followed by a tour of the center and production departments.
The meeting was an opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen contacts.
